Polaris Creative tells your food stories through boutique editorial and lifestyle food photography services. We can shoot on location or remotely in our studio on Vancouver Island, B.C. Food bloggers, restaurants and bars, food producers, and cookbook authors are our speciality.
Food doesn’t happen in a vacuum. There is a story behind the dish. We capture that story in our food photography and pull the viewer in to make them hungry.
Every culture has a right way to serve food, such as a lack of cutlery on tables in India. We photograph food in a way that is culturally appropriate.
We don’t simply create images of your food. We will work with your cook, stylist and the rest of your team to make your food photos speak.
If you don’t have a food stylist, we can provide this additional service. We know food, how it behaves, and how it needs to be plated to look delish.
As an additional service, we can provide the backdrops, cutlery, dishes, linens, surfaces, and more. We will make sure everything compliments the food.
You don’t need to live on Vancouver Island for us to shoot for you. We can shoot remotely. We can also shoot with you in our studio, or at your location as an additional service.
Ingredient selection is important for the best photos. We can shop the best as an add-on. We also can also cook as an additional service which is perfect for remote shoots.
If you sell food — restaurants, bars, farmers markets — we can also create and print your branded print collateral to make sure you have one cohesive look. We also sell canvass prints.
We don’t shoot just any image. Anyone can do that. We are here to create an experience for you and your customers. We don’t have packages because every shoot has its own needs. Before we even shoot, we start with a free consultation followed by an itemized quote. Contact us today for your free consultation!
15% off when you book your first shoot before the end of 2021.
Jules Sherred – owner and photographer – is one of only a handful of accredited professional food photographers in Canada. Food photography is one of the most difficult specialties. He specialises in lifestyle and editorial food photography. He is a member of the Professional Photographers of Canada.
Aside from client work, we also have a couple personal projects that help us to continually develop our skills and continue our education, including a disabled food and garden blog, and an upcoming art exhibit.
